Latest update Oct 5, 2011

WOW, ROCTOBER and a whole 2 months of work!

It's october and I thought I would get and update in.
The last two months have been brutal. I had been happily going along, got the A1000 shipped off to the UK (postage was ONLY $185) and I thought it would be smooth sailing for the rest of the summer. Then about August 15, I got nailed. First, the neighbor had a nasty virus in his system. It took a week to get that sorted out. Then, a hotel client asked me to do some work and that still isn't finished.

During all this time, HP went totally nuts and I ended up with a $99 HP tablet. I love the HP tablet and will give a full review when I can get to it.

Then I turned 41.
We took a few days off to go camping and then it was right back to the grind. I have the A2500 that I was working on to finnish and get out of here.

During all this, one of my best friends since Kindergarten, was in a serous accident and Sundays, I have been trying to go out and see him, I have been to the hospital twice, but I am unsure if he even knew I was there. I figure I will give him a couple more weeks, then go see him, when he is healed a bit better.

I have been also helping Craig from AMITRIX move on Saturdays, and I have gotten a major website contract to deal with also.

So, YES, I have been a bit busy. But I am also going through one of the biggest changes in my life right now computer wise. A few weeks ago, I wouldn't even consider a MAC, But as this crippled, Semperion gets more and more slower, and as Flash and the internet gets more and more of a resource hog, and the fact that XP is really showing its age on this POS, I am really considering switching to Apple.

I was in the thrift store last week and found an iMac G3 for $20. Yep! $20. Its the "Grape" DVD iMac, and it works fine. I figured for $20 , At least I can use it in the bedroom as a DVD player .

This unit is a 400Mhz G3 at 64 megs of ram and a 20 gig drive. It came with 2 keyboards, but no mouse. It was running OS 8.6, so I ordered a gig of Ram and OS 9.2 for it.
I was going to put OSX on it, but I gathered it would run rather slow, so that's when it hit me to make the jump (that and MS labeled CHROME as a virus last week- mistakenly).

As I am infinitely poor, I then started to look at used Macs. I was going to get a Intel dual core iMac, but I missed the Auction by 2 days, so I have now settled on a G4 Power Mac, that I can get for under $200. When the website is done, the money I get from that will probably be used to get a new Mac Mini, or used iMac. Now I have to learn OSX.
